The MALUMI A lamp is a distinct combination of functional art and 1980s aesthetics. Its name, inspired by the word "malumi" meaning sailor in Tamil, refers to travel and the discovery of new forms. The lamp's design draws from the Memphis movement, characterized by bold colors and geometric shapes, while maintaining modernist simplicity. Its form - based on a flat-oval shade - is a conscious reference to modernism, in which the simplicity of geometry was meant to express modernity and order. UMMO reaches for this motif with full consistency, but adds energy to it through intense colors, so the lamp does not blend into the background - it was designed to be present as a clear accent in the interior.
